Vision Statement
At Key Stage 5, students continue to follow the Eduqas Product Design syllabus which tracks on from GCSE. Students are set short initial introductory projects using a range of different materials as well as developing theory on from GCSE in metal, wood, CADCAM, and polymers. Students will develop presentation skills as they present their work back through mini critiques. Students begin their final major project in April which accounts for 50% of their overall A-Level grade. Student’s final design and make project equips them with problem solving skills as they produce their own personalised brief to solve a design problem, creative and innovative skills and working with others which gives them a real life experiences as designers. Students use iterative ways of designing with the three main focusses prototyping, testing and refining. This supports individuals with resilience, problem solving, technical ability, planning and evaluation skills which are all necessary for their future learning and careers.
