Academy Vision

Empower our students through engagement in education, to unlock their full personal and academic potential, to become positive leaders of their own learning and valued citizens.

Curriculum Vision

The Walsall Academy curriculum is designed as an 11-18 journey with learners developing skills and knowledge both in and out of the classroom. The curriculum model aims to meet the current and future local employment need and be broad and balanced, with core values of character education taught through discreet lessons, weaved into academic learning and co-curricular activities, with a focus on students becoming leaders of their own learning.

The Sixth Form builds on the broad base of learning in the lower school but develops it further into a more diverse and relevant set of courses ranging from facilitating A level subjects to accredited professional qualifications with a technical and industrial emphasis. Students become pioneers of their own career journeys with their focus on examination outcomes but also on the character and skill development in preparation for further study, the workplace and future employment.

Key Stage 5 Curriculum

At Walsall Academy Sixth Form, we are very proud of the standards achieved by past and present students across all areas of Sixth Form life. We aim to prepare students for the academic and personal challenges they will face in the future. Our Sixth Form students are leaders and role models and we have high expectations of them. Students at Walsall Academy Sixth Form have more responsibility for their own learning and greater independence to manage their time effectively. This is achieved through a wide range of continuous support from pastoral and teaching staff, as well as our dedicated Careers Team. At Walsall Academy, students are offered a plethora of enrichment opportunities to support their learning and personal development. Students study a wide range of academic and vocational courses. Students have the choice of studying three or four A Levels, BTEC programmes or a combination of A Levels with BTECs. We also have a growing cohort of students who are completing one of our three T Level programmes on offer.
