Vision Statement
The Geography department’s vision is to produce students who are well rounded individuals who can attain their personal best whilst enjoying their studies. Learning in Geography is sequenced from KS3 into KS4 to equip students with the transferable skills needed to create a highly employable adult with a detailed understanding of global issues. The curriculum at Key Stage 4 is made relevant to students’ everyday life through recent case studies of geographical events, so they can understand the wider implications of the content they are studying. To assist with the geographical application required for this course there is a trip to Cannock Chase and Birmingham City Centre which helps to bring the Geography learned in lessons to life and gives a greater understanding of the strengths and limitations of a fieldwork study. All content will be assessed by 3 external exams at the end of Year 11.
Specification being followed: AQA GCSE Geography (8035)
