Building on Key stage 2
The vision for the Science curriculum at Walsall Academy is for all students to learn to think Scientifically, by using Science and Scientific processes to understand the world around. They gain substantive knowledge in Science across the three main disciplines – Biology, Chemistry and Physics – learning about what it means to be alive and stay alive, chemical building blocks, and how things work. They will develop scientific skills over time, demonstrating critical thought and increasing precision in what they do, and will apply their understanding increasingly to new scenarios to demonstrate expertise, common sense, and scientific thinking. It is our hope that all students develop an understanding of how they, their world, and their universe works.
