English, Second in Department (September 2021 start, or earlier) – Application Deadline is: Monday 1 March 2021

Teacher of Science (September 2021 start) – Application Deadline is: Tuesday 2 March 2021

Learning Mentor – Application Deadline is: 16 March 2021

We are seeking an outgoing, positive and passionate Learning Mentor to provide social, emotional and mental health support to students.

The successful candidate will need to hold a mentoring qualification and have experience of supporting students within this role. A knowledge of support strategies and mentoring programmes is vital, and the successful candidate needs an understanding of the importance of developing positive relationships in school. As a Learning Mentor you will be expected to have a caseload of students whom you will support and be able to evaluate the impact of the support, adapting practice as appropriate. You will need to be able to work flexibly and creatively in a variety of ways to support students to overcome their barriers to learning. It is essential that the successful candidate has good literacy and numeracy skills and excellent organisational skills being able to work both independently and as part of a wider team.

Start date: 1 May 2021.  Salary range: £16,270 to £20,617 (term time only)

IT Technician – Application Deadline is: Monday 15 March 2021

Start date: 4 May 2021.  Salary range: £21,000 to £27,000 (full time).

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Application Deadline is: Open

We are seeking an outgoing and passionate HLTA to work in our school to support and lead small groups and support the day-to-day management of the Inclusion team alongside our SENCO.

The successful candidate will need to hold a HLTA qualification and have experience of supporting students and other support staff.  A knowledge of support strategies is vital and an understanding of the importance of developing positive relationships in school.  As an HLTA you will be expected to take the lead on planning and delivering lessons to groups and working one-to-one when needed, establishing positive and trusting relationships with other staff and students.

Start date: Easter 2021.  Salary range: £18,901 to £20,617 (term time only).

Lead Cleaner – Application Deadline is: Open

190 days per year, plus 10 Staff Training Days.  Hours: 7am-8:30am and 3:15pm-6:15pm Monday-Friday.  Hourly rate: £9.72.

Learning Support Assistant – Application Deadline is: Open

Salary: £16,270 (term time only).

Learning Support Assistant Apprenticeship – Application Deadline is: Open

A great opportunity for someone to develop a career in education. Walsall Academy are looking for a Teaching Assistant. Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week £4.50 per hour (£8,775 per annum).

Train to Teach with Walsall Academy

Walsall Academy, in partnership with West Midlands Consortium, train teachers via a variety of routes. We are enrolling for 2021.

Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Foreign Languages

Trainees of shortage subjects may be able to receive a tax free bursary of £26,000, plus 3 early career entry payments of £3,000 tax free, in the second, third and fourth year for Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Languages.

Biology and Computing

Trainees of these subjects may be able to receive a tax free bursary of £26,000 to train to teach with Walsall Academy.

English, History, Geography

Trainees can earn around £18,000 per year with training fees paid by Walsall Academy.
